Description
Big Falls is located within the 135 acres Big Falls County Park in Eau Claire County, approximately 4.3 miles north of the town of Fall Creek, Wisconsin. The falls are located on the Eau Claire River and actually consist of two series of falls. Each section can be reach from both sides of the river as all the falls are within park boundaries with road access from the north and south. This is the southern waterfall as it takes its short plummet over the granite outcroppings in the middle of the river. The beautiful granite rocks are surrounded by sand, leaving wonderful beaches and sandbars to enjoy.
There are at least four different location references to Big Falls in Wisconsin. Two other of the locations are within seventy miles of here. They are Big Falls Flowage and dam (Flambeau River) in Rusk County located approximately 13 miles NE of Ladysmith and Big Falls / Big Falls County Park (Jump River) in Price County about 12 miles S. of Kennan. The other is the town of Big Falls and Big Falls Pond (Wolf River) in Waupaca County.
