Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

THAI PAVILION
The pavilion, or sala, is a shelter from rain and heat. This pavilion resembles the ones that would be on a palace ground or a temple, not those that would be along the roadsides in Thailand. The Thai Pavilion in Olbrich Gardens was a gift to the UW- Madison from the Thai Government and the Thai Chapter of Wisconsin Alumni Association. The pavilion was built in Thailand and then was disassembled for shipment. It traveled by sea, rail and truck and took about 2 months to arrive to Madison where it was reassembled by nine Thai artisans, another three week process. The pavilion has no nails or screws and is made of teak and weather-resistant ceramic roof tiles. Made to withstand the cold Wisconsin winters. Even though rescenlant to winter, it is fragile. The gold leaf that covers the pavilion is very sensitive to human oils. ADMIRE, BUT DO NOT TOUCH. The pavilion was approved by the Thai Royal family and bears the seal of the Thai Crown.
